Product features

Terpene resin is polymer with a series of linear granulated or sheet shape which mainly make use of α-pinene and β-pinene,and under the action of lewis acid catalyzer, and gotten through cationic polymerization. 

It’s chemical formula is （C10H16）n, average molecular weight is 650-1250. It is a excellent tackifier, and has superior performances of good anti-aging,high cohesion, the resistance of heat, light, acid,alkali, and deodorant, non-poisonous and so on.      

Except that, α-pinene and β-pinene can take cationic polymerization with other unit(such as styrene,phenol,formaldehyde etc), and then get terpene resin, like, terpene—styrene, terpene-phenolic and so on.

This product is a thermoplastic solid of transparency and brittle with light yellow color and granulated or sheet shape. It has the performances of non-poisonous,deodorant,radiation resistance, anti-crystalizing etc.  

It is very stable to oxygen, hot, and light, and has characteristics of dilute acid resistance, alkali resistance and strong electric insulativity. In addition, it dissolves instantly in benzene,toluene,turpentine and gasoline and so on, and insoluble in water, mathanol and ethanol. Terpene resin is a good tackifier with better performance than rosin and modified rosin and petroleum resin. It is also an improving agent of hot melting material.
